Young thugs nostalgia torrent

The Reader View of Wikipedia. It is the prequel to the film Young Thugs: Innocent Blood. Riichi's life begins with his father Toshi winning money betting on the gender of his child, then naming him after a move in the game of Japanese Mahjong.

When Riichi wins a fight, his family gets him drunk and the next day he vomits into his recorder during class. Toshi begins sleeping with the stripper Akemi. Riichi's friend Kotetsu's grandmother searches in vain for her paints in the river and is eventually put in a care home. Riichi and Gasu accompany Kotetsu as he runs away from home in Osaka in an attempt to reach his brother's place in Shikoku.

They quickly run out of money and are forced to return home. The first prize of the school competition is paints and Riichi resolves to win them for Kotetsu's grandmother. They steal supplies and build a life-size replica of the Apollo Lunar Module but Riichi's rival Sada and his gang destroy it. One of the very few problems I had with Innocent Blood is the lack of in depth characterization, but that's remedied here in spades. Filled to the brim with the joys, heartbreaks, and wonder of childhood.

One of my favorite foreign coming-of-age films. This only solidifies the nothing that Miike can do much more then the violent, bizarre films that he's primarily known for. Details Edit. Review by nicky! If we take a body of work as diverse as Takashi Miike, quite naturally one asks the question whether the director has a favorite. Review by Finny! It seems less important that even the purest times are often tinged with decay. You only ever remember the good bits. Miike manages to find the funniest and sweetest moments out of a very sad situation. His portrait of a broken family is both heartbreaking and hilarious without ever betraying a sense of reality.

Watching the son navigate these hardships never stops being funny and engaging. The narrative is very loose but not in a bad way, it helps add to the slice of life feel. He ended up making one of his best for sure, I was blown away. This film is everything you want from a Miike's Coming-of-age film.

Teen gang, dysfunctional famiy, often violence, humanism and a journey of a young boy. No strong narrative line drawn but it worked pretty well. One of Miike's best. Its easy to see why Young Thugs: Nostalgia is Takashi Mikke's favourite directed film simply because of how incredibly personal it feels, I would not be surprised if the majority of Nostalgia was inspired by Miike's own Childhood because the movie really does feel incredibly Nostalgic and has a lot of really great messages about how some things never change but how change is also an inevitable part of life that everyone has to come to terms with eventually.

Nostalgia definitely feels like Miike's most polished movie and you can tell that a great deal of love went into to making it, The entire cast is fantastic, The music choices all feel very appropriate and really make you….
