Careful listening to her vocals on this album and on "Feather" reveal a vocalist very much in control of every sound she makes.
Being so used to the vocals on "Feather," it was quite a stunning surprise to hear her go into more mystical territories on this album, including some primal and gutteral sounds that send chills all over me. Also, it's such a relief to finally hear somebody play a soprano sax as beautifully and poetically as Joe Farrell does on Crystal Silence. Kenny G.
